La Pedrera is a beach town in Rocha set on a rocky cliff, at kilometer 229 of Route 10 and about 11 km from La Paloma. Its best-known beaches are very different (El Desplayado, a small cove between the rocks, and Playa del Barco, with waves and surf), and from July to October southern right whales can be seen from the shore.
Outside summer it is a quiet village with a small year-round population and a public health clinic (ASSE). Five minutes away is San Antonio, where we offer lots on the dunes and in the coastal woodland.
