This is a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom home. The second bedroom includes a small kitchenette and living area with separate entrance.
The foundation pilings are between 2.5 and 3 meters deep with steel cages and a top plate which the containers are welded to. All walls, floors and ceilings are insulated. Windows are dual pane. The roof is a standard PUR system over the top of the containers. Bedrooms and main living area are air conditioned and living room has an 85 cm Nuke wood stove with dual glass. All appliances, dishwasher, stovetop, refrigerators, microwaves and oven are included.
Domestic water is a rain water collection system consisting of over 26,000 liters of storage with transfer pumps followed by a 2 HP pressure system with 80 liter pressure tank. Holding tanks have a chlorination system and in the house a filter system for drinking water, water is tested annually. A septic system by Nicoll is used instead of a standard holding tank. There are 4 ponds on the property, three for livestock and one is an overflow from the domestic water system and used solely for irrigation purposes with a separate pump.
In front is a 40 ft. container swimming pool. Front patio is set up and includes sun shades from Ponti for the warmer months.
Two containers are used for the barn area and sit on 16 inches of base rock. The top half of the swimming pool was used for a raised vegetable garden.
Containers are made of corrosion resistant Corten Steel. Like any other home, if properly maintained it will last. All welded areas were treated with antioxidant paint before receiving a final coat of paint.
